Why Crafting

Here in Social Gifting, our intention is to provide work opportunities for our crafters who are from all walks of lives ranging from seniors, differently-abled people and cancer warriors. We believe that crafting serves a benefit to improve the mental well-being of a person. It can be therapeutic, creative, and it can positively change a person’s mood.

The mental health benefits of crafting

Studies suggested, there are some ways crafting can help: 1) Release stress, tension and anxiety. 2) Calms the mind and body. 3) Create an outlet for personal expression. 4) Turn negative emotions into positive ones. 5) Making friends and keeping the person from feeling isolated 6) Encourage mindfulness and discourage self-doubt.

Not entirely the end product

Crafting is not just about the finished product - it's about the journey of creating something so beautiful that you are overwhelmed with joy. It is a means of expressing one's love, gratitude or appreciation. It is not difficult to create an item of beauty because it's something you have made with your own hands!

Social Gifting is about having fun while giving to someone in need, some people are creative, some are naturals, and some are both. Crafting is a skill that can be developed with practice and a passion for getting better with each project.

Why crafting

Crafting can also bring people together. We've all heard how important it is for parents and their children to spend quality time with each other – it keeps them connected and allows for better understanding between family members so much so for a community of crafters.

Welcome to the world of Social Gifting!

Social Gifting is about the community. Our goal is not just for ourselves but it is to help others who are in need, providing passive income opportunities for our crafters to build up their self-esteem & self-worth.

“Self-esteem is what we think and feel and believe about ourselves. Self-worth is recognizing ‘I am greater than all of those things.’ It is a deep knowing that I am of value, that I am loveable, necessary to this life, and of incomprehensible worth.” Dr Christina Hibbert (2013).
