Overview

At Social Gifting, we support a vibrant community of senior crafters who are passionate about staying engaged and connected. Through meaningful crafting activities, they combat social isolation and promote active aging — nurturing their well-being and sense of purpose.

Lions Befrienders (Ghim Moh)

LB (Ghim Moh) serves more than 300 seniors staying around the Ghim Moh rental estate. They provide free activities to promote active ageing and combat social isolation among seniors at risk of social isolation.

Social Gifting partners Lions Befrienders by providing free crafting sessions with the seniors and raise funds to empower LB to organise more free and meaningful activities for the seniors to keep them engaged.

Nenek Imah, elderly living alone

Crafter specialty medium: Sewing

Nenek Imah lives alone in a one-room rental flat in Lavender. With a passion and talent for sewing, she creates beautiful tote bags and pouches from upcycled fabrics, giving new life to discarded materials.

Her skills also include crafting bags from a variety of materials and other fabric-based accessories. Through her work, she hopes to stay active, stay meaningfully engaged, and continue aging with dignity in her community for as long as possible.

Let’s empower Nenek Imah to overcome loneliness, strengthen her well-being, and sustain her passion for crafting.
